Emily Barnes (Tennessee Speaker)

Emily Barnes is an Instructional Technology Coach for White County Schools dedicated to aligning technology integration with sound pedagogy, student data privacy, and student-centered learning. Drawing on her background as a 7th-grade Social Studies teacher, she specializes in cross-department collaboration, bridging strategy with technology, and delivering impactful professional development tailored to educators in an ever-changing digital landscape. Key projects include co-securing nearly $1M in federal technology grant funding to expand digital access, implementing district-wide student data privacy procedures, and establishing a teacher technology leader program across her district's eight schools. She holds an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University, along with a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction and a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from Tennessee Technological University.
