In addition to the regular conference, TETA is offering some paid workshop opportunities

on the Tuesday before the conference. Please read the descriptions below to register for these additional options.

 

 

Leadership and Privacy in Education Symposium

Cost $100    8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (CST) Tuesday, November 29, 2022 – Limited Seats 

This symposium is being offered for those who are in administration and supervision at any level. This full day workshop that starts at 8:30 AM (CST)  and ends at 3:30 PM (CST). Speakers include:

  • Dr. Melanie Miller, Retired Director of Schools in Tennessee
  • Gary Lily, Director of Schools, Collierville Schools
  • Chuck Cagle, Education and Law Attorney

Lunch will be provided. TASL credit of 7 hours earned at this session.

Cost for this session in $100.

Afternoon Sessions

 

When you register for TETC you will have the option to

add-on one of the workshops below.

 

TSIN’s free platform resources: ElevateTN, Defined Learning and Defined Careers  
Cost $50     1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (CST)     30 max attendees

This workshop will consist of a deep dive into the Defined Learning & Defined Careers platform which offers exposure and exploration of careers through project-based learning. The second half of the workshop will consist of a deep dive through the Elevate TN platform where students earn industry-recognized badges for their resumes while building skills that will support CCTE industry credentials and even apply for jobs.  These platforms are offered at no cost to teachers that serve grades 6-12.

Get “Plugged In” with SPIKE Essential and SPIKE Prime (Grades K-8)
Cost $75      1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (CST)     40 max attendees

Does coding feel like learning another language to you? Or maybe you are looking to find a different and hands-on approach to engage students in learning with technology? Either way, join us as we explore how to provide LEGO Education supports high-quality computer science and digital literacy experiences to students. In this session, we will learn how to leverage both unplugged and plugged activities to support your students’ understanding and knowledge of relevant computer science and digital literacy concepts. Participants will get hands-on with the LEGO Education sets, SPIKE Essential and SPIKE Prime, to learn about the software and hardware capabilities to support student learning outcomes.
